Universal grill pan handle

The photo above is a universal grill pan handle.  Except it's not.  Universal means that it should fit any grill pan in the whole wide world and it doesn't???  It doesn't fit my grill pan.  This cost me £6.99 on Amazon.  OK not a lot but that's not the point.  It was advertised as being universal and its not.  What am I going to do with a grill pan handle that I can't actually use?  And don't say 'send it back'.  Unfortunately I had this delivered to my sisters home because she is in all day to take in deliveries and by the time I got it, it was about a month later.  I just immediately took it out of all the ridiculously unnecessary packaging that it was in and chucked away all of the packaging.  Well you would wouldn't you.  It's a universal grill pan handle.  It's supposed to fit any grill pan.  I'm so angry about this.

And actually while I'm having a bit of a rant about a grill pan handle I'll just have another rant about buying a new cooker that doesn't actually come with a grill pan handle.  When I phoned the manufacturers and asked why I didn't have a grill pan handle they told me it was because of health and safety issues.

Health and safety??  The world has gone crazy!  Apparently new cookers are not supplied with grill pan handles because stupid people might try and shut the door to the grill with the handle still attached and that might cause the glass door to break.  The fact that people might burn their hands while trying to use a grill pan that does not have a handle doesn't seem to have entered their heads??  Surely that is a bigger health and safety risk than some thick person shutting an oven door that has a handle sticking out?

So now I'm back to square one.  I still don't have a handle for my grill pan and I still am almost burning my hands on a regular basis every time I use it.  I have burnt umpteen T-towels and oven gloves because I'm actually having to stick my hands right under the grill to pull the grill pan out.

I CANNOT believe that in this day and age, with all the H&S stuff that seems to abound that one cannot actually buy a cooker that comes with a handle for a grill pan.
